Suppporting Two Generations

Under One Roof

Today’s modern family juggles a lot.
Work, school, caregiving, on top of navigating life more isolated than previous generations. Many of us live far from close family and friends and lack the support systems we need. Meanwhile, traditional childcare remains inflexible and out-of-reach for many. While life has evolved, some things have not changed:
It takes a village to raise a child.
That’s where Little Village comes in. We support two generations—both parent and child—under one roof. Our mission is to be a place where working families thrive, and it comes from our core beliefs below.

Supporting women's careers uplifts the whole family

We believe working moms need reliable, flexible childcare.

Caregiving is often seen as a women’s job, but the impact of not having support impacts the whole family. Women often make choices that impact their career and educational growth due to a lack of reliable care and workplace flexibility. They may turn down a promotion, scale back working hours, leave their jobs for a more flexible environment, or leave the workforce or their postsecondary education program entirely.

The impact is felt most strongly and is disproportionate among Black and Brown women who, compared to their peers, are less likely to afford and access quality care. We exist so working moms can have the support and child care they need to focus on their career and educational goals. When moms thrive, so do their kids.

Early learning has lifelong impact

We believe it's essential to nurture our youngest children.

More than 85% of brain development happens before the age of three, making learning environments essential for the holistic development of young children. Yet, in Orange County and across the country, quality care is often inaccessible, unaffordable, and inflexible to the modern family’s needs. We know that play is children’s natural way to learn. Play-based learning and enrichment is led by our experienced caregivers, ensuring our youngest children reach their age-appropriate milestones.

Community is essential

We believe in centering holistic well-being for families.

Family and friends are the social networks for most adults, but in today’s modern society, not all families live or work close to their vital support system. At the same time, mental health issues are commonly experienced by women during both pre- and postnatal periods; and both mothers and fathers can experience loneliness. We know that a community for moms and dads and their children can foster well-being and connection. We exist to help families feel supported and connected. Our parents come here to work, but they stay because of the community
